Back to the Beach

Where was I? Oh yes, right at the video of the jumping dolphins!

After the show, we walked through a building with a lot of fish! No real surprise at Ocean World. These were not for dinner, but on display.

This shot shows a bunch of fish swarming over what looks like a baby bottle, complete with a nipple on the end on which they suck to get the food.

More fish, the colors are fascinating,

The next two links are to videos of jellyfish – i know that doesn’t sound fascinating, but it is. They were in tanks and tubes, swimming around.

A few pictures walking through the park, it has the same flavor as Kennywood.

Our destination was another show, in the Happy Theater, featuring sea lions and a walrus. The spots in the shade were at a premium, it was a very hot, sunny day.

After the show we departed Ocean Park for our lunch venue, a dumpling restaurant. This was our third time with food on a lazy Susan, what a great way to share a meal with friends.

Then we were off to the Dalian Museum of Natural History. We took our picture with a diorama of Thompson’s gazelles!

The expression on this critter’s face is priceless.

As we were walking up the stairs, Pam spotted an ID on the floor, and it belonged to this grateful woman.

This creature will show up in my nightmares…

After the museum, we finally made it to the beach. As you will see, it is not quite like the Jersey shore. Yes, those are tents on the beach, in addition to ☔️. And yes, it is crowded!

We went down to the water’s edge and stuck our feet in the Bohai Sea. The sand turned to gravel as we approached the water, and boy did that hurt to walk on barefoot.

The obligatory group photo in front of the conch shell, we were not the only ones doing it! Also a selfie with Iris, Julia, and Bangjie.

After getting back about 5:30, thoroughly exhausted, we found a little more energy and went to the Beer Festival. More on that later.
