After the long day at the beach, we mustered the energy to go to a beer festival being held in Dalian. We could have chosen to go to a rock concert instead, and sit in front of the amps – it was unbelivably loud!
The next several photos show what we saw walking into the beer festival – lights, people, tents – although tents is a misnomer, these were large temporary buildings!

The next few are inside the tent, and i don’t remember at the moment what brewery it was, but it was German. We were there with some other hotel residents who were German!
These are our German compatriots at the hotel

The next photo shows, from left to right, Forrest (one of my fellow faculty members), his wife Jasmine, and another person at our table, i am not sure who it is. Beer was involved! Mostly kidding, we managed to get two beers in the time we spent at the fest, the waitresses were all incredibly busy!

A selfie of Pam and I and a picture taken by someone else – I overcame my self-imposed ban on selfies on this trip. Just like i eventually traded in my flip phone for an iPhone!

This is the stage above us, where a DJ was killing us with bass, there were flashing lights, … Play the video, it will give you some idea of the deafening sound.

And they obviously think that is entertainment – or maybe I have reached old-fartdom!
Jasmine and Sophia from the hotel, she arranged to take us to the fest, which was very nice of her!

The brewery, and the menu – i can read Draft Beer – but not much else… We were able to determine what was a dark, a wheat, and a lighter beer, tried two different ones, both were good.

That’s about it – it was much more enveloping and all-encompassing than these pictures can tell. We gave up about 9:30, thinking we were wimpy, but the rest of them came back about 10:30.
