Friday Night in Dalian (7/26)

We had a great Friday night. We took a cab to the Galleria, and went to the Tai Dian massage parlor for a foot massage. Oh my, but is it great!

The massage was in an elegant room with two massage beds, covered with elegant fabrics. We sat on stools and put our feet in tubs of hot water while the masseuses gave us a neck and shoulder rub. After about 10 minutes of this, they washed and dried our feet, and we laid down on the beds for about 50 minutes of foot massage. If you have never done it, and you get the chance, do it. It is very relaxing, and in this establishment, they had the lights turned down low, and music playing softly in the background as we got the massage.

After that we wandered the mall looking for dinner. We ended up at a Japanese themed restaurant, where we got a bowl of warm rice covered in slices of outstanding salmon sashimi. The meal was just right, a fairly light and delicious meal accompanied by a glass of Kirin beer on draft.

We walked back to the hotel, it is only about a mile, and saw more of the Dalian skyline lit up at night. There are an awful lot of tall buildings that are very pretty to look at for a 2nd or 3rd tier city.
